Wood Styles and Selections

Aluratone 100: Aluratone 100 utilizes a slotted face to pass sound through to the absorptive core.  Using state-of-the-art CNC equipment, Our Company can custom cut any specified slot pattern.  Our recommended slot is 3/8 wide, but can vary depending on scale of the project.  Similarly, the length and spacing of the slots can be varied within reasonable structural limits.  The Aluratone 100 panel is available in Composite, a 1-1/2 thick panel with acoustical infill, or Solid, a panel with an optional acoustical fabric backer.  The panels can be edge banded with matching veneer for installations where the edges are seen.

Aluratone 300: The traditional grooved pattern of the Aluratone 300 face makes it one of our most popular Aluratone panels.  Aluratone 300 is a composite panel created by encapsulating acoustical material behind a grooved face.  The face grooves are 1/16 wide and spaced 3/8 on center.  The face panel is also grooved on the back in a perpendicular direction before assembly.  The intersection of the perpendicular grooves creates holes that pass sound to the absorptive core.  Aluratone 300 panels are 1-1/2 thick.  The panels are also typically edge banded with matching veneer.

Aluratone 500: Aluratone 500 is similar to Aluratone 300, but the 1/16 grooves are spaced on 3/16 centers to create a fine finished look.  The panel is typically 1-1/2 thick and is edge banded with matching veneer.  Popular in high end spaces where acoustics are a concern, Aluratone 500 is the perfect choice for performing arts theaters.

Aluratone 700: Aluratone 700 achieves acoustical performance with a panel face perforated with holes.  The holes pass sound through to acoustical material behind the face. Our Companys CNC drilling machine can drill holes in a variety of diameters and patterns.  Our typical hole patterns are based on 16mm (5/8) increment system.  Standard hole spacing options include 16mm (5/8), 32mm (1-1/4), and 64mm (2-1/2), on straight or staggered centers.  Our Company can also drill non-standard hole patterns.  Aluratone 700 panels can be produced in acoustical composite 1-1/2 thick panels and solid panels, which are 3/4 thick.  In both cases, larger diameter holes have black acoustical fabric laminated behind the face.  With the solid panels, additional noise reduction can be achieved by adding acoustical insulation behind the panel during installation.   Panels can be edge banded with matching veneer to respond to project requirements.

Aluratone 900: Some projects require the simplicity of direct attachment to walls or ceilings; Aluratone 900 panels are perfect for the job.  Aluratone 900 provides the rich look of wood and the acoustical benefits of our Aluratone line in a clean monolithic product.  Aluratone 900 is a solid panel with a thickness of 11/16.  The face of the Aluratone 900 panel is grooved with 1/16 wide grooves on 3/8 centers.  The back of the panel is drilled to a depth that intersects with the face grooving to produce acoustical openings.  Black acoustical fabric is laminated on the back of the panels and can hide any additional acoustical batting installed behind the panel.  The standard Aluratone 900 panel is 11 wide and is available in 8 and 10 lengths.  The long edges of the panels are routed with a tongue and groove.  The tongue and groove design provides a monolithic look, as well as an easy installation.  Panels can be attached to furring or a plywood wall or ceiling.

Special Considerations

Acoustical Properties Our Companys Aluratone panels are specifically engineered with acoustics in mind.  The Aluratone product line provides designers with the beauty of wood while enhancing the acoustical properties of the space.

Above Ceiling Access Access above Aluratone ceilings is easily achieved with a variety of installation techniques.  C-hanger and torsion springs are all that is required on most project installations requiring individual panel accessibility.

Lighting Fixtures Light holes and other penetrations can be factory cut on Our Companys advanced CNC manufacturing equipment.  Our Company can also manufacture the panels with pads, solid areas with no acoustical infill, which allow penetrations to be cut in the field.

Installation Installation of Our Company Aluratone panels varies depending on project requirements.  As mentioned above, accessible panels are most commonly installed with z-clips, or torsion springs.  C-hangers simply screw to the backs of the panels and suspend the panels from standard wide C-channel.  Torsion springs are fastened to the backs of the panels and using standard T-rail grid and a spring and clip mechanism.  For wall applications, Z-clipsprovide a secure attachment to furring or a ply board wall.
